From eBooks Just Published:
I’ve just released two incredible new text to speech voices for use with Text2Go. They are called Amy and Brian and have been developed by IVONA Software. I really think they’re amazing – certainly the best I’ve ever heard. You can read the press release on the Text2Go blog or better still listen to the press release as narrated by Amy or Brian.
As a matter of fact, I did listen to the press releases at the links above, and the voices are so good that I decided to post this article.
It is a good-sounding set of voices… maybe not perfect, but easily understandable. And I’m glad to see Text2Go translates ePub files. Good job, guys!
True, the new voices are good, I like the epub support, but what a shame it doesn’t support other commonly used formats like PDF or even DOC without the need of converting them into text.
I haven’t tried any DRM protected EPUBs on it yet, it is converting Alice in Wonderland to iTunes at the moment as a first test. It also handled teleread blog posts without much problems.
As expected it doesn’t handle DRM protected EPUBs.
Does anyone know of a text to speech that works with college text books? I’m new to this, and Itunes.
