I love the Feedbooks library that the Stanza e-reader blended in. What’s more, via companion software, Stanza can pick up e-book from your Mac or PC.
But wouldn’t it be great if you could directly download e-books from any URL on the Web?
Well, now you can—thanks to Stanza’s latest upgrade to version 1.2, released earlier this week.
Other new wrinkles include "Bookmarks, sorting…French & Italian translations."
Tip: You can also find some important Project Gutenberg classics via Stanza’s International Library option. To the left is a screenshot from War and Peace, with Stanza menus toggled in.

Seems like a great feature, but I havent been able to make it work yet. It looks like you have to navigate to the exact file URL, and that turns out to be very hard. eReader is better at this for now, for my money.
Paul, that is a very real limit. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, if Lexcycle eventually enabled an eReaderish, browser-style approach. Great to have your feedback. Marc at Lexcyle reads us, and maybe he’ll respond. Thanks. David
Don’t get me wrong – Stanza is still a great program. Just a niggle that this key piece of functionality isn’t quite self-explanatory.
