Digital wearables and e-paper may be advancing by leaps and bounds, but they still have some way to go before they can rival this.
Mashable has shared a delightful piece of literary fashion sense with Vancouver based actor, model and artistic personality Jori Phillips and her amazing bookworm dress, crafted entirely from the pages of a thesaurus.
“I was hired as a costumed character for the Denman Island Readers and Writers Festival 2013,” Jori explains on Facebook. “I created the character as well as hand-making the dress and hat. The entire costume was put together by myself over the course of a few months.”
The Festival on Jori’s home base of Denman Island has probably garnered some unequaled social media exposure through her inspired cosplay. And even with the price slashing on Nook Simple Touches and other basic e-readers, I don’t see anyone stitching those together into such a garment for quite some time.
You can see more on Jori’s dress saga on her Facebook page here. Meantime, I’ll avoid any off-color quips about looking up a word in the thesaurus …
