Publishers Weekly has teamed up with social reading community Wattpad to create additional marketing opportunities for self-published authors who participate in the PW Select program.

PW Select is a new initiative launched by Publishers Weekly in recognition of the growing self-publishing trade. A supplement listing self-published titles as well as reviews for at least twenty-five titles will be issued four times a year to PW’s audience of booksellers, librarians, publishers, distributors, wholesalers, agents and other media.
By highlighting PW Select titles and reviewed works on Wattpad, self-published authors have the opportunity to reach the widest possible audience. The trade and media audience of Publishers Weekly coupled with the millions of readers on Wattpad makes PW Select an excellent marketing opportunity for self-published authors, explains Cevin Bryerman, Publisher of Publishers Weekly.

“In the last six months Wattpad has seen an explosion in the numbers of self-published authors looking for a platform to connect with readers and gain feedback on their work” says Allen Lau, CEO and co-founder of Wattpad. “As self-publishing continues to gain momentum as a popular alternative to traditional publishing, authors require equally high-profile and effective ways to promote their work. Wattpad is a targeted reading community that bridges the gap between self-publishers and readers.”
PW Select authors are invited to create a Wattpad account and take advantage of the company’s mobile and web presence. Wattpad is the most downloaded free eBook reading app in the world and sees millions of visitors to its site every month. Up to five authors will be featured on the www.wattpad.com homepage and prominently on all mobile apps. Additionally, all PW Select titles will be added to the PW Select Book Club.
