From the press release:

M-Edge Accessories, the market-leading designer of accessories for devices like iPad, Kindle and Nook, announced today the formation of an Education Team within the company that will work with school superintendents, teachers, and librarians as e-readers and tablets are introduced into schools and libraries.  The goal of the Education Team is to increase the longevity of these devices by offering the best protective accessories available at discounted prices for educational institutions.

M-Edge created the Education Team as a way to work with the unique needs of teachers and librarians purchasing accessories for student use. “Teachers were contacting us inquiring about our products, and it was clear to me that we needed to have a group dedicated to assisting educators. We talk through how students use devices and work with their school’s budget to make recommendations on the best, most affordable option to protect their investment,” says Allison Ward, V.P. of Customer Relations & Education Outreach.  “We are also happy to help schools design customized covers incorporating their school logos and colors through the MyEdge program.”

M-Edge’s Education Team recently partnered with four schools in New York for the 8-Ounce Backpack Project, named for the light weight of the Kindle e-reader as opposed to heavy textbooks.  The schools received grants to purchase 84 Kindles and train teachers on how best to utilize e-readers in the classroom.  Each school will use a selection of M-Edge jackets for their Kindles, including the Latitude, GO!, Executive and Platform Jackets, to protect and enhance the functionality of the Kindles.
