Now developers can get started in earnest. You can find it on the Nook developer website. Here’s what they say:
NOOKcolor runs the Android 2.1 Operating System and works seamlessly with the Android SDK (API Level 7). Barnes & Noble provides an Android SDK add-on (NOOK SDK 1.0) to help you get started developing applications for NOOKcolor.
The NOOK SDK 1.0 contains the following components:
Android Virtual Device (AVD) Emulator
Android Debug Bridge (ADB) configuration settings
Sample Code
Documentation for NOOKcolor files and componentsThe NOOK SDK 1.0 Android add-on uses the Android SDK and AVD Manager to perform the installation.
There are also 3 PDFs on the site: Developing for the NOOKcolor, Usability basics for the NOOKcolor, Specifications for the NOOKcolor.
Hopefully someone will write a nook app that allows former .pdb purchases from Barnes and Noble and subsidiaries to be recognized on the nook color.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use Unity 3D (with the Android license) to create apps for the color Nook?
