Shopping for an e-book reader for a friend or family member? Or trying to see if he or she is interested in E in the first place? Geeks.com has a good introduction to the technology.
Conclusion: “eBook readers have their drawbacks. But, if you’re a serious book hound and want to combine that interest with your interest in technology then an eBook reader is definitely a worthwhile investment. You can carry around literally hundreds of books—novels, non-fiction, technical tomes, and more – all in less space than your average trade paperback. That, in itself, is worth the price.”
Detail: I wish Geeks.com and the rest of the world would say “e-book” rather than “eBook.” But that’s a losing battle.
I vote for eBook. Always have used it that way.
Hey, at least they aren’t saying “iBook”! I’m sure that is a registered trademark (R) of the Apple Corporation, blah, blah, blah.
But, Fred, why the cap B? That suggests a trademark. In fact, I’m pretty sure eBook is a trademarked term (I’m time-crunched today or I’d go over to the USPTO site).
Thanks,
David
Just as e-mail lost out to email thus will e-book lose out to ebook.
I really wish there was a tag called “ebook reader” or e-reader. I’d very much like to read those entries.
