Lex Friedman of Macworld takes a look at the Barnes & Noble eReader for iPad (not the one for the iPhone/Touch) and concludes that is is adequate, but no match for either iBooks or Kindle for the iPad. One thing he really dislikes is how slow it is.

TeleRead.com is now a static archival site, but we're very much alive at TeleRead.org. Big thanks to Nate Hoffelder of The-Digital-Reader.com, who teamed up on the preservation project with ReclaimHosting.com.
All of the minor inconveniences of the BN eReader for the iPad taken together do not begin to outweigh the benefits of being able to configure the App for a display of yellow text on a black background, day or night. This combination of high contrast and an effectively non-backlit display has almost sent my Kindle DX into retirement.
This one feature alone has almost entirely switched my book purchases from Amazon to B&N.

I don’t know why there isn’t a link to the actual article. Maybe there is and I missed it. For those like me, it’s http://www.macworld.com/appguide/app.html?id=531259
