Textbooks 2.0 – self-publishing textbooks

One thing I’m learning here is that ebooks mean more than just stuff you read on your Kindle. Neeru Khosla just presented a session on the non-profit she’s running, whose goal is to self-publish textbooks which can be tailored to an individual student’s, or teacher’s, needs. For example, in a math book you can have complicated equations to solve for the “A” students, but easier ones for the “C” students. Design of the book would be by collaborative software and they could be published by a print-on-demand publisher. There is a lot more to this ebook thing that meets the eye.
