For audiobooks: A ‘Wrist-Worn Personal Computer’?

No audiobooks angle, but that’s what I’m thinking after reading an item from the EuroTech Group, an R&D outfit in Italy, via Ars Techia. This would be a multi-purpose gizmo. MP3 players exist, but we’re talking about the next level of gadget and general-purpose computing. The audiobooks would be just a nice bonus. As for e-books–why not them, too. What to do about the display issue, however? Perhaps the eye-glasses-style approach?

LOL! Gotta give these folks a snap or two for vision – but would you ever be caught wearing one of these in public? Tres uebergeek….
Hey, Jake, wait for the high-fashion version
Looking at the photos from the linked website, I would guess that this device was first designed for military applications, and that they are now trying to market it to rescue workers, factory workers and the like. The device trades convenience for effectiveness, which is acceptable in some professions.
(An alternative for a soldiers would be to have a similar device embedded in their main personal weapon.)
Devices for private users would probably look more like the 888 or the Survi-1.
