TeleRead is drawing some attention in Europe. We were mentioned May 5 in a Polish publication called Palm Page. It picked up our discussion of the benefits of e-books to a cash-strapped Parochial school on the South Side of Chicago. Along the way, reporter Magdalena Kaczmarek acquainted her readers with the useful work of e-book consultant Eric Walusis, who aided the school.

Meanwhile a French high school student named Maryse writes that TeleRead and e-books were “a subject of a lesson in my workbook in English class. We listened to a interview of you about TeleRead at school and we have worked with this new technology.” Her email adds: “To my mind, TeleRead will offer a fantastic variety of books for everybody. The knowledge will come down to everyone. There will be more equality between students who will have the same book at their disposal.”

Exactement! Young people–inside and outside the States–are far more open to the promise of ebooks than are some of their elders.
