William Lynch Steps Down as B&N CEO: What does it mean for the future of Nook Media?

Considering William Lynch's history with the company, this news probably doesn't come as a huge surprise. Lynch oversaw the entire Nook line, including the E Ink Nook readers and the tablet line. Considering that B&N is abandoning tablet development and focusing just on the Nook line, Lynch's legacy with the company can hardly be said to be successful. Barnes & Noble Posts Losses, Still Committed to Nook

We've known the numbers were coming, and Barnes & Noble released its third quarter earnings today. A few items of interest: Third quarter consolidated revenues were $2.2 billion, a decrease of 8.8% as compared to the prior year. Third quarter consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were $55 million, as compared to $150 million a year ago. Third quarter consolidated net losses were $6.1 million, as compared to net earnings of $52 million a year ago. Those are some pretty impressive numbers.
