Accessory Review: Case Studio customizable iPad case
February 25, 2015 | 10:25 am
I've never been a big one for customizable swag, but when the folks at Case Studio offered me a coupon code to create my own iPad case, I admit I was intrigued. There's so many options that no two cases would ever look alike. From uploading a custom photo to selecting one of many designs and adding a short message or monogram, the options are endless. I spent close to half an hour on my case. While I was tempted by uploading a gorgeous piece of Dean Winchester fan art (completely safe for work, in case you were wondering), I finally decided...
Accessory Review: Snugg Executive iPad Case with Card Slots
July 17, 2014 | 1:35 pm
I have been looking for an iPad case with pockets for some time. I go to many meetings during the week where I want my iPad and perhaps a credit card and driver's license, but I don't want to carry my messenger bag. An iPad case with a few pockets would do it. When the folks at Snugg asked me to review the [easyazon-link asin="B009K2PPMC" locale="us"]Snugg Executive iPad Case with Card Slots[/easyazon-link], I jumped on it. It's been almost a week now, and so far it's perfect. (Yes, I did opt for the electric blue case pictured. I was tired of...
Review: iPad Case – The Ridge by Devicewear
July 19, 2013 | 11:34 am
Having taken advantage of the recent Best Buy trade-in program and securing myself a shiny new iPad, I found myself in need of a case. My old iPad 2 case didn’t quite fit the fourth generation model. I like slim cases that don’t cover the bezel, and I decided to try the Ridge model by Devicewear. While it’s a decent case, it didn’t 'wow' me. First, we’ll start with the good stuff. It is slim and doesn’t add much bulk or weight to the iPad. It’s a bit bulkier than the Apple-branded Smart Case (which is what I ended up using instead),...
Proporta Beachbuoy Waterproof Nexus 7 Case (Review)
February 11, 2013 | 1:00 pm
The Proporta Beachbuoy Waterproof Nexus 7 Case was sent to me for review by the kind folks at Mobile Fun. They offered me my choice of Nexus or iPad Mini cases, and given that I stole the Beloved's book-style for my own purposes, I let him pick. He choose this waterproof case because he's fond of a good bath, and he was hoping he could enjoy his baseball RSS feeds while in the tub. He also found the book-style case a little cumbersome and prefers to read the device 'naked.' But when he travels with the tablet, he does want something...

Mini-review: M-Edge Trench Runner iPad Jacket
November 15, 2011 | 4:03 pm
M-Edge has been getting cleverer and cleverer as they get older. It's inspiring to see how a small business that started at a kitchen table can develop into a market leader! They sent me a sample of their new Trench Runner Jacket for the iPad 2. It's made of weathered cotton canvas, in olive drab or German grey, and has genuine leather and brass fittings. Inspired, they say, by vintage military hardware. The iPad clips into a plastic shell on the right hand side of the case and is held securely. It has the usual ability to act as a stand. And here...
Review: Acase iPad Case
December 16, 2010 | 2:45 pm
While I was engaging in a paroxysm of Amazon ordering activity for holiday presents, I happened to notice one of Amazon’s bargain deals was for an iPad case—the “Acase Premium Series Leather Slimline Carrying Case for Apple iPad 3G tablet/Wifi model 16GB, 32GB, 64GB (Black)”. A few weeks ago, when I met a fellow iPad user in a local coffeehouse and he told me how much of a difference a good iPad case made, I was skeptical. But after having this one for a few days, I am starting to believe him. This case is nothing particularly fancy. It...
