Laptop Magazine reviews Kobo Vox
May 11, 2012 | 9:01 am
They give the tablet 2 1/2 stars out of five. On the social features of the Vox the reviewer says:
Kobo believes that social and gaming integration give the Vox an edge. Unfortunately, this experience falls a bit flat and feels unnatural and awkward.
Kobo brings gamification to the reading experience with a native app called Reading Life. This app shows reading statistics, such as total time read, the current book reading time and pages read, as well as various numbers analyzing reading speed by page and reading session. These numbers are interesting to look at and explore, but don't really provide much...

B&Ns Nook with GlowLight: Why I Still Use an eInk eReader
May 7, 2012 | 10:48 am
My new eInk reader, B&Ns Nook with GlowLight, arrived last Thursday. I'm winding down my use of a Kindle Touch and wanted to move to another ebook retailers platform going forward. This, of course, is a major headache since I've already bought dozens of DRM-protected ebooks from Amazon. I figure I'll read the last couple I bought on my Kindle and all future purchases will be from B&N...until some other device catches my eye. :-)
So what do I think of the Nook with GlowLight? Its just like my Kindle Touch, but with a built-in light. That pretty much sums it...

May 7, 2012 | 8:38 am
From The Kindle Chronicles:
I visited Dr. Temple Grandin at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, on April 30 and brought with me an array of Kindles and an iPad. Her considerations of the devices as reading aids for those on the autism spectrum were candid and astute. Her bestselling books include Animals Make Us Human: Creating the Best Life for Animals and The Way I See It: A Personal Look at Autism and Asperger’s. The story of how she used her personal experience of autism to revolutionize the livestock business was dramatized in an HBO special starring Claire Danes.
I recorded...
