January 20, 2012 | 9:02 am

In view of today’s event, where Apple is going to declare their commitment to digital publishing, I realized I’ve never ever bought a single book in the iBookstore.
To clarify: I didn’t spend a dollar in the iBookstore, but I bought lots of books to my iOS devices, both as book apps in the AppStore or to other...

Hewlett-Packard's TouchPad was the second most-cited device, garnering just 10.3 percent of the people surveyed, while Research in Motion's PlayBook was a laggard.
The study suggests that despite a number of new entrants jumping into the tablet fray, few have made a dent in either market share or consumer awareness. That doesn't bode...

It’s the tale of William Tell, albeit backwards… the former hero seems to be intent on shooting the fruit from off his own head, without real provocation. Apparently Steve Jobs’ beloved devices the iPad and iPhone–which embody (for many) the culmination of free thought marrying free enterprise—are about to be severely limited, as far as apps go. The June 30th deadline looms for app makers to meet the stringent new guidelines for being allowed on iDevices, where no apps will be permitted that harbors a “buy here” button which takes consumers to a site Apple doesn’t own. Quick Notes: iPad news roundup
March 14, 2010 | 11:53 am
Here are some interesting bits of news from the last couple days of the iPad sales frenzy. Investor Village estimates that 120,000 iPads were preordered in the first day, with wifi-only models beating out wifi+3G by a 2:1 ratio. "Apple has been able to generate over $75 million in revenue in one day on a product that 99.9% of purchasers haven't touched or for that matter, even seen in person," said Victor Castroll, an analyst with Valcent Financial Group. "And, we're still three weeks away. That is amazing." The Unofficial Apple Weblog...
