iPad MiniThe iPad mini looked like a bit of a gamble for Apple at first, but you don’t get to Cupertino’s dominant position over the tablet market without taking some risks, do you? And this one seems to have paid off rather nicely, as a second-gen 7.9-incher is allegedly in the works already.

Meanwhile, if you’re one of those folks living in the shadows and scouring the Internet for the best deals on the most awesome gadgets, you should know that an assortment of refurbished iPad minis are again available via Apple’s U.S. Store.

The tabs are not exactly dirt-cheap, but they offer savings of up to nine percent off the list price of a new iPad mini, which is still something. The most affordable refurb’ed 7.9-incher is the 16 GB Wi-Fi only version in black and white, available for $299.

$130 more can get you the 16 GB iPad mini with 4G LTE, while the 64 GB Wi-Fi only variant is worth $489. The 32 GB LTE-enabled model is $519, whereas a 64 GB mini with 4G speeds will make you dig deep in your pockets, being listed at $619.

Remember, even if they’re refurbished, all products are thoroughly tested and certified by Apple and come with one-year warranties and brand new batteries and outer shells. As usual, we expect stock to be fairly limited, so you’ll want to hurry if you want to get one of these.
