Yale to digitize Syrian and Palestinian government records
October 13, 2009 | 9:11 am
By Paul Biba
That’s the purpose of two government grants. The government records will cover the years 1919 to 1948. The records from the British Mandate Palestine are contained on 40 microfilm reels and 5 print volumes. The Syrian collection is now in printed format and is the only original copy in the US and only one of 5 in the world.
In addition manuscripts, manuscript catalogs and dictionaries will be digitized. You can find more information about the project here.
