Mobcast was founded in the UK by Andy McNab, who founded GoSpoken.com, the first mobile platform in the UK for book lovers. The Japanese company For-Side.com Co., Ltd. has invested 1 Million Pounds in this company which is the parent of GoSpoken and Wireless Thinking and it’s goal is to put books onto cellphones and other mobile platforms. For-Side.com already sells 2 million ebooks per month in Japan and is now moving into other markets.
There seems to be a recent trend of high-tech Japanese companies investing in the European mobile content market. Last week Japan’s top mobile operator NTT DoCoMo Inc. secured a stake in a German mobile content company to expand their European market reach.
