I bought the first issue of Steampunk Takes and read it on my iPhone. I enjoyed it a lot, so I expect this issue will be fun also. Note that Tales is now available on other platforms. Here’s part of the release they sent me:

Cover_free1.jpgFresh off of their tremendous rookie success with their debut issue, Steampulp Publishing LLC has announced the release of a free issue of Steampunk Tales, an electronic pulp-fiction magazine that is available as a native iPhone application, as a MobiPocket eBook and on Amazon Kindle. Additionally, Steampunk Tales is available as a DRM-free .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) download which can be read on any personal computer. Steampunk Tales Free-#1 contains the first four parts of G. D. Falksen’s An Unfortunate Engagement.

“G. D. Falksen was kind enough to submit the first four parts of his new serial, An Unfortunate Engagement, for publication at no cost. This is the first free content that we have offered. We are planning on releasing free mini-issues of Steampunk Tales as we’re able, between full releases of the ‘zine,” said John Sondericker III, Steampulp Publishing’s founder. G. D. Falksen’s An Unfortunate Engagement is a steampunk adventure tale filled with action, excitement, thrills, chills, and of course mad science, set against a backdrop of the Edwardian era. The serial will be continued in future issues ofSteampunk Tales.
