Kobo App updated

The Kobo app has been updated to version 3.7. According to the App Store the changes are:
Supports reading newspaper and magazine content on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch
Turn a page using a page curl, just like turning a page in a real book
Touch and hold any word to look it up in the built-in English dictionary or Wikipedia, or search for it online with Google
Addresses a minor issue when reading while not connected to a WiFi or cellular data network
If you look at the page curl change, it seems as if Kobo is saying that their ebooks are not “real books”. I don’t think that they meant that.

Now they are getting up to speed. That dictionary makes a difference. Now you can get newspapers and magazines too. Although, it’s not working yet on my iPhone.
Now, what they need to do is adopt the Amazon Archive concept for getting books on/off your Apple products and they’ll be doing alright. That system they have now “stinks”.
Also, to compete with Amazon, at least for Canadians is to match Amazon’s pricing (accounting for the HST) so prima facia, books are the same price.
I don’t know about you, and I hope iBooks is listening, I’m going to buy the book I want with the lowest price all things being equal. I only buy from Kobo & Apple when I can’t get it from Amazon.
FYI Paul, Kobo also has apps for Android, Mac, and PC, so it’s not quite accurate to refer to the iThing version as “THE Kobo app”.
