Docomo has 56 million customers and it is expected that in the next 5 years the market will grow to $3.5 billion, according to the article. Dai Nippon is introducing a new mobile store for ebooks which will be combined with it’s existing online store for printed books.

Their major competitors will be Japans second largest mobile service, KDDI Corp, who has teamed up with Sony to distribute ebooks. Google has also announced its entry into Japan for next year.
