GoSpoken and Verlagsgruppe Random House pair up to distribute ebooks

Amazon is not the only one who will be offering over the air downloads of books in Europe. Here is a press release just in:
Mobcast Ltd, parent company of digital book service GoSpoken.com and the book publisher Verlagsgruppe Random House (Germany) have announced a distribution agreement.

The service is accessible at GoSpoken.com or by texting SPOKEN to 60300 from the United Kingdom.Mobcast will distribute Verlagsgruppe Random House’s eBook catalogue on GoSpoken.com and across partners’ app stores making German language titles available for the millions of RIM, Nokia, Sony Ericsson German customers that use the BlackBerry App World™, Nokia Ovi store™ and Play-Now Arena™.
Ex-SAS (Special Air Service) operative turned best-selling author, Andy McNab founded the audio-and-eBook-for-mobile company, which was then supported by Lord Ashcroft’s investment organisations. GoSpoken.com now offers more than 8,000 titles from authors including the Verlagsgruppe Random House authors Stieg Larsson, Helmut Schmidt and Ian Rankin and will have a catalogue of 25,000 at the end of 2009 growing to 100,000 in 2010. Mobile phone owners can browse and buy Verlagsgruppe Random House titles over any operator’s network worldwide.
