Google is stretching out overseas with this new announcement from Interead. You can find the press release here. The more the merrier!
British company Interead announces that COOLERBOOKS.com is the first ebookstore outside the US to partner with Google to include over 1 million public domain books (close to half a million outside the US) from Google Books in its online library. Starting today, COOLERBOOKS.com will feature a Google API with out of copyright works from the Google Books index, accessible for free via the COOLERBOOKS.com website, and the COOL-ER ereader. With this partnership, COOLERBOOKS.com becomes the largest ebookstore in the world, with over one million titles available for purchase or free access.

I had 2 Cool-ers, both of which died within 10 days. I liked the device itself, when it worked, but 2 faulty ones (with no attempt at troubleshooting from their support) made me think this product isn’t worth the money. Add to that the hassle of dealing with overseas returns and it wasn’t worth it.
I bought a Sony Pocket reader at my local Sony store, and I think it is a much superior product. It was cheaper too.
