This is a beautiful interactive map/chart/thing that is available at the BBC News website You can see how broadband coverage has increased from 1999 to date by moving the slider at the bottom of the BBC’s page. Thanks to Bookofjoe for the link.

I guess this ties in, to a certain extent, with the piracy story below.
