EreaderChoice site opened: comparison of ereaders and books
December 10, 2009 | 9:26 am
By Paul Biba
This new site looks like a great idea. It has a grid for the Ires, Kindle, Nook and Sony and then lists books and prices for each. The book listing is by NY Times Current Bestseller, Pulitzer Fiction, Man Booker, Pen/Faulkner Award, Nation Book Award, Pulitzer Non-Fiction, National Book Award Non-Fiction, Oprah Book Club, Hugo Award and Nebula Award.
In addition they have a buying guide, ebook search, video reviews, ereader feature grid, and pricing/availability grid. This site looks like it could become an invaluable resource and I congratulate them especially on the Best Seller listings I mentioned above. It’s fun to see what best seller is on one platform but not on another. I’ve actually added the site to my bookmarks bar.

I guess it’s good for the bestseller list, but I don’t know how much you can trust the facts. It shows a PRS-300 and calls it a PRS-600.
Not to mention the fact that you can purchase these ebooks from anywhere that sells EPUB, with the exception of the Kindle of course, so prices are appearing higher than they should on the Sony.
And iRex and the nook are both B&N’s store, so naturally they are the same. You’ll probably be able to buy ebooks for Sony Readers from B&N’s store in a few months too.
Thanks for the catch Mike. You’re right we had the wrong image there. We have fixed it. We appreciate your feedback.
To respond to your points — we are planning on adding a more exhaustive search across more ePub stores over the course of the next few weeks and months. Right now we are searching the critical stores that most users will end up using.
As of now, though it has been announced, it does not appear that you can yet install B&N books from the Sony store. Once that goes live we will update the site appropriately.
Thanks,
Ish

We have updated the site so its a little more clearly marked which stores we are doing searches against.
