LuzmeA couple of weeks ago, I reviewed eReaderIQ as a way to track Kindle e-book prices. Several readers encouraged me to try Luzme, and so I gave them a look today.

Their big advantage over eReaderIQ is that Luzme allows you to track prices from multiple stores, in five countries (U.S., UK, Canada, Australia and India). They say they have more stores and countries coming soon. Obviously, this is nice if you like to price compare over multiple stores.

Signing up and creating an account is easy. If you just want to check the price on an individual book, you don’t need an account, but you’ll need one if you want to create Watchlists.

Luzme will automatically import your To Read shelf from Goodreads or your Wishlists from LibraryThing or Amazon.

So far, even with the flexibility, I don’t like it as much as eReaderIQ. I noticed that one of my books on my Goodreads list is shown as Free. However, that’s only true if I borrow it from Kindle Lending. Because it’s shown as Free, I’m not sure I’ll get a notification if the price drops. eReaderIQ shows the same book at its correct price. If any readers have used Luzme for Prime Lending books and have seen price drops, please let us know in the comments.

eReaderIQ recognized that I had multiple Amazon Wishlists and asked which ones I wanted to track. Luzme only recognized my main Wishlist and didn’t see my “Ebook” list. I don’t add e-books to my main Wishlist, so to get Luzme to track them, I’d have to move them all to my main list, which is a pain.

Luzme does have a potentially nice feature coming soon: a service for authors to track the prices and sales of their books. I’ve signed up for the beta, and when I get an invitation, I’ll try it out and report back.
