Georgia city latest to consider laptops for schools

Here, from the Gainesville Times. Laptops are much better than no computers at all. But when it comes to e-reading, I hope that the schools will consider the advantages of a tablet form factor–which would be easier on the kids’ backs. Laptop initiative site here.

Once the Nokia 770 gets to a second version, it would be much better than a laptop. It would need to get education applications ported to it, which might be a no-go, as those are heavily proprietary/commercial. But for cost, durability, lightness, and html-files, it would be a great choice.
