Amazon PR: You CAN include your book title in a review signature

Straight from Amazon PR guy Andrew Herdener, here’s assurance that you can include your book title in a review sig line.
“Yes, you can include your title in the signature, that hasn’t changed. The posts were removed accidentally and quickly put back up.”
“The posts” would apparently refer to those of Canadian suspense writer Cheryl Kaye Tardiff.
Please note that I’m not saying you can mention your titles with impunity—certainly Drew’s statement would contradict the impressions of Cheryl and others. Were the reviews reposted, but not with the titles?
Whatever the case, the Herdener e-mail to me is progress. At least we have an official Amazon spokesperson on record now as saying that title mentions are okay. Big thanks to Drew, and I hope that the actual people overseeing the reviews will pay attention.

Hi again:
Mr. Herdener is correct; my posts were put back up.
Amazon’s first decision was to put them back up after someone there had edited my signature line and removed the “author of Whale Song” bit (or whichever book I chose to add.
However, I was explicitly told earlier in emails from Amazon reps in the review dept. that authors who write reviews could not add their own book title in their signature. That’s why mine were deleted.
However, today I received an apology and all my 85 reviews were reinstated. Someone from Amazon kindly typed in “author of Divine Intervention” at the end of my reviews. I find that they chose that book title of mine to be quite ironic.
You can read about my contact with Amazon, read the letter by Peter (a senior manager on the Amazon Communities team) and my response.
I believe the original problem may have stemmed from one person’s decision (or misunderstanding of the rules) in the review department. They need to learn not to be so quick to hit that delete button.
Regardless, I am very happy with Amazon now and I’m pleased that this is finally resolved.

Congrats for carrying on the good fight, Cheryl—and then also recognizing Amazon’s willingness here to admit its mistake. Now if they’ll do the same about lack of ePub on the Kindle, lol.
Cheers,
David
Thanks, David. This was something worth fighting for, for all authors, so I’m glad it was resolved this way.
ePub is a whole other battle. You can have it, David. I’m handing over my slingshot.
