GooReader, a Windows application, allows you to download and search from Google Books, rather than using the Google Books interface. It comes in a free version and a $20 version that enhances the search facility and proved additional features that let you create and save PDFs.
If anyone tries it out please let us know. I don’t have a Windows machine any more.
I just downloaded the app and tried it out. Quite frankly it’s one of the worst ebook apps I’ve ever used. I wrote a brief review of it here on my blog:
I agree. There are significant issues with this app. I tried three or four different searches and the system was unable to deliver results for any of the three. I subsequently deleted the app from my PC.
