Google Nexus 5Shopping for a high-end smartphone these days is surely not easy, with so many ever-so-slightly different devices battling it out for a place in our hearts. But what about six or nine months from now? Well, it’s about to get even more crowded and more crazy-competitive in the mobile market.

Aside from the mystery Motorola X Phone, whose most recently leaked spec sheet is a real doozy, the Nexus 5 should also give Samsung, HTC, Sony, Apple and BlackBerry a run for their money.

The alleged LG-made new Nexus leaked out for the first time last week, but now another source debunks basically everything the “old” one told us. According to this new report, the N5 is set to be more compact, with an “edge-to-edge” 4.5-inch screen boasting a 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution.

Why not Full HD? We have no idea, but that doesn’t make the Nexus 5 any less enticing. And that’s because the thing might come packing a quad-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, a 2,800 mAh battery and a 9 MP camera.

The snapper could be one of the major selling points, given the fact that it could replace the CMOS sensor with a higher-quality CCD one. Pricing and release details are of course kept under wraps, but before hearing anything about that we should probably wait and see if the rest of the details prove legit. Do you think they will?
