If you are commenting on a TeleRead post for the first time your comment will be held for approval.  This is to prevent spam from infiltrating the comments – which it diligently tries to do.  After your comment has been approved your future comments will go up immediately as no further approval is necessary.

I check comments several times a day, but it may take up to half a day for your comment to be approved.  Don’t worry if it doesn’t go up right away – I’ll get to it as soon as I can.  No reason to post a duplicate – time cures all ills.

If you are a regular commenter, it is still possible that your comment will be caught by our spam filter, especially if it contains a url or numbers, unusual paragraphing or characters other than letters.  I’ll see it, and approve it, as part of my regular approval process.  So far, in the the last 60 days our spam filter has caught 111,448 spam posts.  For 2011, the filter caught 385,975 spam posts – using a spam filter is a necessary evil.

    • Not so much anymore since we implemented captchas for posting. We used to be deluged with hundreds of posts per day. At the moment, there are three posts sitting in the filter that apparently got posted since the last time I checked it this morning, one of which was a false positive that I just approved.

Not sure how that spam comment on the Entrekin post made it through. I’ll be zotting it now.

  1. A different issue is really that video gaming has become one of the all-time main forms of excitement for people of nearly
every age. Kids engage in video games, and also adults do,
too. The XBox 360 is one of the favorite video games systems for individuals that love to have a lot of games available to
them, and also who like to play live with some others
all over the world. Many thanks for sharing
    your opinions.
