This is important because the controller sets the speed of the display, as well as the display features. According to E-Ink-Info, the new controller allows for multi-regional and concurrent display updates and for direct touch/pen drawing. Additionally is supports picture-in-picture, rotation, transparency and hardware cursor functions.
