Wowio’s e-book ad goals vs. current stats

“How many ads appear in a book? WOWIO founder William Lidwell says, ‘The goal is to keep it under a ratio of one ad page per three content pages. By comparison, many magazines have ratios as high as 1:1.’ It doesn’t appear that the company has achieved the 3:1 ratio as yet; WOWIO versions of Player Piano and Cat’s Cradle contain six ads each.” – Mike Banks’ blog.
The TeleRead take: This above post is two months old, but I doubt much has changed. I’m really rooting for WOWIO to make it, although I believe that readers will be grouchy about that 3:1 ratio. By the way, the $155 used DT 375 tablet includes a PDF reader and hopefully will work with WOWIO.

i’ve been reading books by wowio, and i find the ads negligible, and not really a nuisance at all. the books are great, and their store is very easy to navigate and use. i’ve recommended wowio to ebook-readin’ people i know.

I agree with Franko. I’ve been reading Wowio books. The ads are negligible especially their recent releases where they confined the ads at the beginning and end of the book.
