A video game will help Ben Esch promote his debut novel, Sophomore Undercover, his debut novel—a young adult book. Given the age group of his target market, a game would seem rather appropriate.
"Sophomore Undercover is my first book," he tells MediaBistro, so it was difficult to figure out how I was going to promote it. I did the usual things: website, blog, and author videos. This lead to the idea of making a promotional video game for my book. The people who I think would like my book play video games. I play video games. It seemed like a pretty natural fit."
Great. But how come I can’t find Sophomore as an e-book? And if/when it is one, just what will the price be? The publisher is Hyperion, a branch of Disney.
