Stanza 1.7 will read more eReader books—including Manybooks.net’s

Stanza 1.7, just released for the iPhone and iPod Touch, can read more eReader files—including those from one of my favorite sites, Manybooks.net.
Earlier Stanza had had problems with e-books that lacked sufficiently detailed tables of contents. Glitch fixed entirely? Try out the new Stanza on previously problematic titles and tell us the results.
There are also “improvements in French, Chinese and Russian translations.”
Note: The accompanying info from iTunes says Stanza was released on Nov. 19, 2008. And this is supposed to be fast approval? If the date is right, the delay might be a reminder of one negative of having even “safe” apps filtered through Apple. I’d like apps to be checked for viruses and so on. But is there a way to speed up the process?
Other platforms for Stanza: The report from Mike Cane is that Android will be next, and that Blackberry, Symbian and Palm are also candidates. Hello, Marc at Lexycle? What’s the latest?

It’s not exactly the rumor: that’s what Neelan told him on Twitter.
Do you plan on using Twitter in the future David ?
Thanks, Hadrien. As for Neelan, he can email or phone or IM me for the moment, but, yes, I may succumb to Twitter in time, LOL. My life has plenty of interruptions as it is. But, hey, within reason, I’m all in favor of informative interruptions.
Thanks,
David
OK, I succumbed, and you and Neelan are both among the people on my Twitter list. I guess that means a little less time for RSS feeds (and related interruptions to watch them. But, hey, I’ll bow to the trend of the day. It’s possible I may also add a Twitter plug-in to the TeleBlog.
Cheers,
David

This is good news, but still a reminder of just what all these formats gets us.
Also, I wish the desktop version of Stanza was a nice as the iPhone version. The iPhone version is one of my favorite eBook reader apps I’ve ever used.
I like Stanza for reading ePubs, but I’m less sanguine with it for eReader books. I tried it with an eReader book I had made, and it ignored the hard page breaks I had inserted into the book, and thus ended up with the title page cut in half and starting to appear below the cover image. Bleah.
