According to the Financial Times, Random House has said that it hasn’t cut a deal with Apple yet because Apple’s pricing structure “could erode established publishing practices”. The paper says that Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, Hachette, HarperCollins and Penguin have all cut deals.
Markus Dohle, Random House CEO, said that the iBookstore meant “changes, in particular for our stakeholders” which would require consultations with Random House’s authors and their agents.
