manybooksnet Manybooks.net, known for its many formats and well-organized, well-presented collection of public domain and Creative Commons books, is back online after technical problems.

I was going to explain its absence, but Matt McClintock, site owner, was up and running again before I could. But why waste an informative e-mail? Here’s the lowdown:

“I’m trying to restore the site—it’s been a busy week at work, there’s a hole in my roof that needs to be patched, and a couple of other issues that’ve all popped up at once. Yikes. The good news is the backups seem to be all right (the internal hard drive problems affected the external backup drives, for some reason), so now there’s  a new internal drive in place I should have it back in a day or so — if I can find the time!”
