Macmillan to delay ebooks, but do it differently

According to Shelf Awarenes Macmillan will delaying ebooks in a different way. When a major title is released Macmillan will issue an enhanced ebook edition that includes author interviews, reading guides and other material. It will be issued at a higher price than the hardcover, and then after 90 days a “regular” ebook will be issued. Books that Macmillan thinks will not be bestsellers will have ebooks available at the time the book is published.

I like this plan much better than the S&S/ Hachette plan. Anyone who wants to, can pay more to get it earlier and will get a little something extra to help make the price more acceptable.
Yea, this isn’t a bad plan at all.
Depending on the book, I would be interested in paying a higher price and getting more stuff. This is a much smarter plan.
