For Valentine’s Day, an erotica e-reading survey
Posted By Juli Monroe On February 14, 2013 @ 4:54 pm In ebook, ereaders,Romance | No Comments
E-books have been very good for the erotica genre. Even the Wall Street Journal thinks so. Why? Because women can now read books they’d otherwise be ashamed to be seen reading in public. No more blushing! After all, would you want your seatmate on the subway to know you were reading Fifty Shades of Grey ? I didn’t think so.
Erotica and digital reading have had other unique pairings lately. Who would have thought, for instance, that e-books (especially erotica books) could have medicinal uses? This article from KevinMD.com was one of the most eye-opening pieces I read last year. A doctor “prescribing” mommy porn for patients with blunted libidos? Talk about thinking outside the box! (Fewer side effects than Viagra, too.)
Cheeks heating up yet? Good. In honor of the day, I thought we’d have some fun with a little survey. No worries, your answers are completely anonymous, so feel free to play along. The first two questions are primarily for women, while the last two are aimed at you guys. If you’re feeling particularly daring, please elaborate on your responses in the comments.
(And just to prove that I have no shame, I’ll answer the first two questions: Yes and Yes.)
Which leads me to a word of warning:
Don’t forget what’s open on your e-reader when you show it off to a friend. Be especially cautious if the person you’re handing it to is a potential client. (Yes, I did exactly that. Lucky for me, the story hadn’t gotten to the really good part yet.)
Happy Valentine’s Day!
