Some TeleRead community members in Canada are in an uproar over AWOL bestsellers in the local version of the Kindle store.
Now Amazon has put out a release headlined Books in 60 Seconds and Vast Selection of Content in Kindle Store Moves Canada into the Top 5 Kindle Countries. Read it and share your thoughts. What’s this about Amazon offering Canadians “over 300,000 books, including New Releases and Globe and Mail bestsellers, which typically are U.S. $11.99 or less”? Catches?
Note: I have no idea of the nationality of the lady in the photo.

Ok, but still awaiting books from Canadian publishers: Canadian authors where are you.
Also, still no New Yorker nor Corriere della Sera.
Waiting for these patiently.
Sell us what we want to read!!!
Another item I noticed about the content available to Canadians is that the classics that Amazon lists for free in the US they cost $2 in Canada. I would love to hear explanation for this. For someone, like myself, who is simply using the Kindle for iPhone application for any Kindle purchases this makes no sense. Fortunately, I can get these titles much better formatted by using Eucalyptus without any cost.
