Simon & Schuster invites reporting of e-book piracy

Spotted e-piracy of S&S books? You’ll soon be able to report the offending sites here (the address isn’t operational yet). See Publisher’s Weekly for more info.
I myself am against intrusive DRM and has suggested social DRM as a compromise—but that means respecting the rights of writers and publishers. And if executed well, the S&S strategy will facilitate this.
What we don’t need: A massive RIAA-style legal jihad against consumers. There is a difference between warnings and hastily triggered lawsuits.
One more possible reason for S&S’s interest in this issue: Piracy of The Lost Symbol, Dan Brown’s bestseller from rival Doubleday.
