“Lib2Go is free online converter that allows you to convert various types of documents and ebooks to EPUB (developed by the International Digital Publishing Forum) and LRF (Sony’s proprietary BBeB format). Supported input formats are: DOC, EPUB, FB2, HTML, LIT, LRF, MOBI, ODT, PDF, PRC, RTF, TXT. Supported output formats are: EPUB and LRF.” – Lib2Go Web site.
The TeleRead take: Sony Reader users in particular might benefit. Anyone tried this service? And how does it compare to Calibre software, on which it’s based? Share your impressions. Please note that this is just in Alpha right now. Of course, as usual, DRM will be the spoiler in many cases. You can’t take a DRMed Mobipocket file and turn it into ePub or LRF—at least not without cracking the “protection,” which is illegal, alas, in the U.S. and many other countries.
