Kindle software update to 1.0.4 just announced: Now what does it DO?

What’s Amazon up to with its 1.0.4 Kindle software update, perhaps the first public revision to come along?
Among other things, will the update disable the workaround that lets Kindles work with DRMed Mobipocket from independent retailers? I doubt it, but would welcome confirmation that it does not. Can someone try a new e-book purchase after updating and let us know?
Wait. Read a MobileRead thread and Gizmo News—you may want to wait due to other issues.
So what does the update beyond providing improved screen savers and supposedly “improved overall performance”? (Via Mike Cane and jkOnTheRun.)

There are new screensavers.
The browser has been updated to cut down on ‘excessive lines’.
The ‘default search’ has changed (she was unable or unwilling to discuss what that meant).
And no, the update does not allow folder creation.

I am reposting this from over at MobileRead.
According to the new user’s manual, the update added a new menu screen for audiobooks. Also, the Kindle will now be recognized by AudibleManager as a valid device. I think this means that the Kindle is now fully compliant with Audible DRM.
