ftclogo As I posted here a few weeks ago, the FTC is going to be holding a "town hall meeting" to discuss DRM in March, and they have been seeking comments and requests for discussion from interested parties—including the general public. The deadline for getting those comments in is January 30th, so you have less than a week left if you haven’t posted your comments already.

Has DRM directly affected you? For example, are you…

  • unable to read encrypted MobiPocket books you bought and paid for because there is no official Mobi reader for the iPhone, Mac, or Linux?
  • possibly losing books you bought and paid for due to Overdrive ending relations with Fictionwise?
  • adamantly refusing to install Spore because of its infectious DRM system?

Then the FTC especially needs to hear from you!

My comments consisted of a slightly modified version of the "What’s Wrong With DRM?" section of my post "DRM: A TeleRead primer". Be sure to send in your own.
