Thanks, everyone, for your comments. I am tempted to do as BBusyBookworm says, and strip the DRM after purchase, but I’ll still have to pay $15 for the privilege. As for purchasing the hardback, there’s never been a book I couldn’t wait for until the paperback came out for, and this is no exception. I think as Clark said, I would soon be suffering buyer’s remorse. Chris, I hear you about supporting authors, but I currently live in Thailand, and the shipping is exorbitant and very slow, so it’s really a no-go on buying the hardcover.
What gets me is that one-click button. I could be reading the book in under a minute on my Kindle! Very effective marketing, and it nearly undermines my anti-DRM determination.

If you’re in Thailand, how could you read it on a Kindle? I thought they were US only.
Hello Chris, you can download via Amazon outside the States, or use their free conversion service for other documents. Not as effecient but just as effective.
