I never did hear from Virginia Democratic Senate candidate Harris Miller about his copyright policy. (I had hopes. Miller used to be a tech lobbyist.)
By contrast, a staffer with rival James Webb (shown) responded with a courteous letter answering at least some of my questions. I was curious about Webb’s Hollywood donations and his connections with the entertainment industry, as a best-selling writer.
I in fact voted for Webb yesterday, many others did as well, and he won. Now to see if he’ll be open-minded about repealing or at least migitating the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act, the DMCA and other joys.
The Wikipedia in action: The Webb and Miller entries already contain the results from yesterday’s election–53 percent for Webb and 47 percent for Miller.
