Bah! I hate it when people start doing what I do. It makes me — unwillingly — part of that, ugh, “mainstream.”
I’ve sampled most all of the P2Ps. And I’ve been using eD2k (as we call it).
eD2k is fantastic for large files (>100MB). It enabled me to see the first 13 episodes of “Gerry Anderson’s New Captain Scarlet” from England. (Up yours, MPAA, RIAA, et al.)
However, for
…oh! Comment bug! It doesn’t like the less-than sign!

However, for LESS THAN 100MB-size files, there is only *one* choice: LimeWire.
(Yeah, yeah, I’ve tried BearShare: yecch!)
Thanks, Mike. As we know, there are MANY legit uses for P2P–especially for Hollywood, if the fossils will wise up.
As far as I’m concerned, my downloading those Captain Scarlets *is* legit. I am interested in the series, wanted to see it, *could* see it that way, so I did so. Will I now *not* watch it when it hits TV here? No — I’ll watch! A wee window on a computer monitor is just a tease for seeing it on TV. And I’m hot to buy the *legal* DVD sets too, when available.
Wake up, MPAARIAA.
That said, yes, there is MUCHO public domain stuff on P2P. Just plop in search terms “speech” or “Old Time Radio.” You can even get Thomas Edison’s first recorded words! (Edison, you know — the guy whose camera/film patents caused those PIRATES to FLEE WEST and start an ILLEGAL OUTPOST they called HOLLYWOOD! I am the MPAA’s worst enemy: someone who KNOWS their industry’s HISTORY!)
