BMW, manufacturer of executive automobiles, and in the news lately for getting kicked out of the warm bed of the Web by Google, has added audio books to its rich arsenal of marketing weapons. BMW-audiobooks.com is your destination for four (adult) short stories, each featuring a certain model “Beemer.” I had the misfortune to listen to the first one, Beautiful Ride by Don Winslow, and read by Kerry Shale, who renders all characters as such stereotypes that it is hard to sympathise with any of them. Still, his hard-boiled chef Jeff would make a great Sesame Street character. There’s no accounting for taste, and you may like what you find there. Registration required.
