Apple tablet to be called the IPAD—if Borders survey has the name right. And how about the ‘this year’?

“While randomly checking off answers, we noticed something odd. Borders wants to know if we plan on purchasing an ‘Apple IPAD (Large Screen Reading Device)’ this year.” – MacLife on a Borders customer survey.

i vote that they are bringing back the “iBook” name they so cleverly phased out years ago.

That would make some sense; Better than iRead…
A lot of smoke here so its either another case of Apply hype hysteria or there is actually some meat to the story. We’ll have to wait for the september episode of “as the Apple turns” to know for sure, though.
Steve Job’s stellar iPad will rapidly gain some steam after the push time during it’s launch. The lack of keyboard and Job’s potential to fix defections will help to make the product a huge product in time.
