ipad13[1] Found via DealsPlus (via a retweet from ShivaeStudios): Apple is now offering refurbished iPads. However, as a comment on the DealsPlus page notes, the refurbishment discount is a flat $50 across all models. If you’re going to spend $779 on a 64GB iPad with 3G, why on earth wouldn’t you spend an additional $50 and get it new? That’s not even 10% of the cost.

Perhaps a better question is, if Apple’s offering refurbs now, does that mean they’re gearing up for a holiday-season launch of the next generation of iPad after all, much like Amazon offered refurb Kindles a few days before launching the Kindle 3?
